Welcome to Remind
Blue Ridge School District is excited to share that we use Remind for our district and school wide announcements and messages. It is a new, easier way for the district, teachers and staff to communicate with students and their families. Families can use the free app or choose their communication method, including text messages.
At the District level, we will be using Remind for district wide announcements, urgent messages, weather related closings and delays, special events and much more.
We have already rostered parent accounts using the email address/phone number we have on file in Sapphire. You will need to follow the instructions in the email and claim your account. If you did not receive your welcome email or text, you can sign up for a free account HERE. If you previously used remind with us, please make sure all your notifications are enabled and merge any multiple accounts you may have. (Email, Text, Phone App)
BRSD School Codes are:
Elementary School: @br-es
Middle School: @br-ms
High School: @br-hs
For students and parents, be sure your child's school has your current contact information, including phone numbers, email address, and mailing address. Now, more than ever, this is vital to make sure you receive important information from your child's school. Please update your information through the Sapphire Community Portal.
District families should have received a welcome message for each enrolled child via text message, email, or voicemail. Just follow the directions in the welcome message or watch the following video:

GUIDE FOR PARENTS, STAFF AND COMMUNITY
Join a class or school: You can join a class or school to receive Remind messages via text, email, and/or push notification. Class codes can be obtained from your child’s teacher. School codes are listed above.
- Join by text: Text a unique class or school code to a Remind phone number.
- Join online: Visit remind.com/join and enter the class or school code along with your mobile phone number. You'll get text notifications at the number you entered.
- Join via mobile app: Download the mobile app for iOS and Android devices and create a new account (or log in if you already have one.) To join a class, tap the + by Classes Joined and either join with your class code or search for your class. You'll automatically get app notifications.
Merge duplicate accounts: If you have duplicate accounts, you can self-merge them by logging into one account and adding the contact point (phone/email) from the other account in your Account settings.
Change your notification preferences: You can add, remove, or edit your phone number and email as well as adjust your app and desktop notifications via your Remind dashboard, under Account settings.
You don't have to use Remind. You can learn how to stop messages on this webpage. However, Remind will be the primary way BRSD send out alerts, announcements and urgent messages to parents.
Connect to family members: Remind allows for family member connections between students and parents. Go to your Account settings in the top left corner, and find the option to add your child.
